The MentorInMe

The purpose of this project is to create a safe, educational, and inclusive place where high school students can learn to become the leaders of tomorrow, both within their academic communities and local municipalities.

The project will consist of virtual workshops/presentations with various youth. Audiences will include secondary school-aged youth ranging from ages 14 to 18. YFAP members/Foundry staff will teach students basic leadership principles, crisis intervention, harm reduction, and the courage to use one’s voice for good — all through planned six weekly sessions. The hope is that participating individuals will learn and grow to love the idea of uplifting and assisting those within their community — ultimately creating a space built of the fundamentals of kindness, equality, and equal opportunities for all.

The MentorInMe Project is a youth mentorship program that works at educating youth on how to become leaders within their academic and local municipalities. Participating youth will take part in 6 virtual workshops regarding the following topics:

  • Introduction/When to tell an adult/Active listening

  • Caring for yourself/Setting boundaries

  • Anxiety

  • Mood/Depression/Suicide

  • Self Harm/Eating Disorders

  • Relapse/Ongoing MH/Wrapping it up

The project aims to inspire, innovate, and guide youth through the difficult challenges of growing up, learning to self-advocate, and helping others. It is the hope that participating youth will both receive critical education that betters both their community and self-image.
